When checking for a UTI diagnosis, your doctor will ask about your symptoms, examine you, and collect a midstream urine sample. This helps avoid bacteria from nearby areas like the urethra, vagina, anus, groin, and hands that could contaminate the test.
For some people, a UTI can happen once and go away with UTI treatment. But for others, UTIs may come back and become harder to deal with.
