CAUSES OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Learn more with hub.health

Many people develop hypertension over an extended period. There are numerous factors that contribute to persistent high blood pressure, including unhealthy diet, family history and other related health conditions.

By understanding the causes we can make an informed choice to get our blood pressure monitored regularly.

Manage high blood pressure with hub.health.

Common causes of high blood pressure

As outlined by the World Health Organization (WHO) hypertension is a leading cause of premature death globally.

Simple lifestyle changes can minimise the risk of developing hypertension, such as eating a balanced diet and engaging in regular physical activity.

In some cases, high blood pressure can be associated with hereditary conditions, making it essential for people with a predisposition to be monitored regularly.

Certain health conditions can also cause a person to develop high blood pressure, including:

  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Anxiety
  • Alcoholism
  • Nicotine addiction

Food and beverages that act as stimulants in the body can also increase the risk of developing high blood pressure, such as coffee or other caffeinated beverages, soft drinks, alcohol and energy drinks. Reducing salt intake can also reduce the chance of acquiring hypertension later in life.

Frequently asked questions

hub.health uses a secure digital health platform to provide convenient and affordable access to high blood pressure treatment from an Australian based medical team.

After completing an online questionnaire, your assigned practitioner will determine the most effective course of treatment for you. If you’re eligible, we’ll organise fast delivery to your door.

As recommended by Therapeutic Guidelines Australia, our medical team can prescribe a combination treatment that may consist of two or more drugs. Your dose will be relevant to your personalised care plan to ensure your body can tolerate the medication. Some dual treatments are available in one combined tablet to assist in alleviating the burden of taking multiple pills.

At hub.health, our team of medical experts provide the highest standard of healthcare, assessing each patient individually.

If our team determines a potential risk related to a specific blood pressure treatment, it will not be issued. Your practitioner may provide recommendations for the next steps, including in-person GP visits for further assessment.

A clinician will review your assessment and respond within 24 hours. In most cases it will be much sooner than this.

Once your treatment has been paid for, we will ship with express delivery to anywhere in Australia, meaning your package should arrive within 1-3 days. Your product is shipped in an Australia Post package, which means it will be completely discreet.

Of course! If you log into your profile and head to the ‘Products’ tab, you will see a ‘Manage Treatment’ button. Click this and you’ll see the ability to send a message to your clinician. If you’re having any issues, just drop us a line at [email protected]

Yes, as part of joining hub.health, we will handle your repeat deliveries to ensure that you never miss one. If you ever wish to stop receiving your treatment, just cancel in the patient platform, or alternatively email [email protected]
