What is a pre-travel consultation?
The hub.health pre-travel consultation is designed to connect you with one of our knowledgeable medical practitioners so you can discuss your upcoming trip in detail and explore how you can make your journey a safe and healthy one. You will discuss your current health and medical medical history, destination, and travel plans to develop a tailored approach. You can address any health concerns, discuss necessary vaccinations, and offer preventive measures to minimise the risk of travel-related illnesses.
Do you offer vaccinations & immunisations?
Yes. We will work with you to explore risks associated with the various destinations on your itinerary. We offer prescriptions for a huge range of travel vaccinations, helping to protect you against diseases prevalent in different parts of the world. From routine vaccines like tetanus and hepatitis A/B to specialised ones such as yellow fever, we ensure that you receive the appropriate immunisations for your travel destination.
Do you offer travel letters?
Yes. If you’re travelling overseas, the TGA recommends you carry a letter from your doctor detailing any prescription medicines you are taking with you. This will include the name of the medicine, how much you are taking and state that it is for your personal use only. If you’re carrying complementary medicines, you can ask the doctor to include these in the letter. Where possible, it is best to carry a letter from your doctor along with your labelled prescriptions.
Do you offer prescriptions and medications?
Yes. If you require prescription medications for ongoing conditions, we can help ensure you have an adequate supply to last throughout your trip. Our medical team will review your existing prescriptions, provide additional medications if needed, and offer guidance on managing your health while away from home.
Do you cover other areas?
We provide our patients a range of other advice and medical support to cover a range of health concerns – be sure to ask during your appointment.
